Vairotsana Translation Committee
Tibetan Buddhism is a living treasure that encompasses the entirety of the Buddhist tradition, including sutras and tantras. Not only that, scriptures in the Tibetan language are the most faithful to the original Sanskrit scriptures.
Over time, great Tibetan masters have written volumes of texts on a variety of topics. Today, many people both in the East and in the West are studying these texts and are engaged in Tibetan Buddhist practice. Therefore, it is important that the translation of Tibetan Buddhist texts and writings into other languages, such as English, is done with as high a quality as possible. Also, it is important to create a standardized terminology that can be widely understood. Such vision can be achieved when there is collaboration by many.
To fulfill this objective, a group of Tibetan Buddhist teachers, scholars, and translators has formed the Vairotsana Translation Committee. Our committee believes these precious Tibetan Buddhist teachings will attain longevity in the world by being translated into other languages, and that this project will immensely benefit many who are studying these sacred texts.
